OVERVIEW:
(3 DAYS - 2NIGHTS)
Meet at the airport. Transfer to the Hotel, check in and have lunch.
Afternoon: We drive to visit all the major historical sites in the valley of Dien Bien Phu: The Army Museum, Hill A1 (Elian 2) which offers a panoramic view of the basin, Dominique 2 on this has a Victory monument stands as a symbol of the Vietnamese triumph and honors the soldiers who fought bravely in the battle. It made of bronze with the weight of 220 tone; Artillery sites; De Castries headquarters as you explore the bunker, you can see the strategic layout, the communication equipment used, and the living quarters of General de Castries and his staff; The memorial to the soldiers of the French expeditionary force, built 1992, and a symbol of reconciliation between Vietnam and France, The Bailey bridge, and the remnants of the tanks and guns left on the battlefield.
In the late afternoon we will visit the outer French positions: Beatrice, Isabelle, Gabrielle and the remnants of a concentration camp.
Later, we will visit a Thai village, walk at leisure, take photos and, if you wish, meet and speak with a local family.
Then back to the hotel. Dinner and have a rest of the day.
DAY 2: TRANSFER TO MUONG LAY TO EXPLORE THE OLD TOWN VESTIGE ON THE RESERVOIR (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
8.00 AM Breakfast at the hotel.
Start the trip forward to the North. You have a great opportunity to behold the beautiful scenery on the road side, or from the top of mountains. Moreover, you can see some of different colorful costumes from other different minorities (you can stop whenever you prefer to take photos or meet someone).
11.00 AM. Get to Muong Lay town.
Check in the hotel. Lunch and take a short snap.
13.00 PM. Drive along the reservoir side to take view of the valley. Stop at Le Loi King temple which built in the 15th century when the king came to repel the foreigner invader enemy. After the task, he carved on a stone to mark his victory and Vietnamese sovereignty on this land.
14.30 PM as we make our way back with a stopover to visit a once palace known as Deo Van Long, which was tragically destroyed. Deo Van Long, a Thai king who served in the French Army, lost his position in 1953 during the liberation of the area by one of Viet Minh’s division.
Next, we proceed to visit a picturesque White Thai villages located at the T-Junction of three rivers: Nam Na, Nam Lay, and Da River. Stop at a village to meet the locals and discover their authentic lifestyle, then engage in meaningful interactions with the friendly villagers. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and daily routines of the local community as you witness the rural activities such as cattle grazed in the field, water rice fields work, Knitting, fishing…
Return to the hotel and take a leisurely stroll across the expansive building bridge to immerse yourself in the refreshing natural surroundings of the area.
If you'd like, we can arrange a boat cruise to see the lush vegetation and stunning landscape along the green reservoir.
Back to your hotel.Dinner and have a night in Muong Lay town.
DAY 3: BACK TO DIEN BIEN PHU – FLY TO HA NOI (Breakfast, Lunch)
After having breakfast, we check out the hotel and get back to Dien Bien Phu.
During our journey back to Dien Bien Phu, you once pass the Muong Cha which is a legendary route for photographers. You will admire the gorgeous upland rice fields made by the Hmong from generation to generation, see the local women in their colorful traditional dresses, wearing silver jewelry. Take a look at the frontier area on the opposite side of the river, which runs along the road leading to Dien Bien Phu.
Next, we can make a stopover to visit a historical site related to the French War. It is conveniently located by the roadside, allowing us to explore and learn more about this significant period in history.
12:00 AM, we arrived in Dien Bien Phu. You enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before transfer to the airport for your flight back to Hanoi. This marks the end of our trip together. It's time to say goodbye to you.
