Day 1 | Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu City (D)
Upon arrival to the Dien Bien Phu Airport, you will be met by the tour guides. He will give a short tour brief and will take you to your pre-booked hotel. Check in the hotel and rest for the day.
The car with the driver will be available for you at your convenience. Feel free to go explore local markets. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 | Dien Bien Phu – Viet Minh's HQ - Tua Chua (B/L/D)
7:00 AM: Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel.
8:00 AM: Drive 30 km from Dien Bien Phu city to Muong Phang commune and stop at the entrance of the former Viet Minh headquarters. Enjoy a walk through the lush chestnut forest to explore the military base, where you can see the working areas of radio operators, telegraph staff, switchboard operators, the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and even a smoke-free kitchen. Continue on to the underground tunnels—over 96 meters hand-dug by local people during the French War—connecting General Hoang Van Thai’s hut with General Vo Nguyen Giap’s working place.
Stop at a Thai village and enjoy lunch with delicious organic local dishes.

After lunch, enjoy a 4-hour drive to Tua Chua, passing peaceful villages and rice fields in the mountain region. Take a short rest midway with tea or coffee in your half way.
Continue to a natural rocky plateau, one of the best spots to admire the landscape surrounded by cornfields and dotted with small houses of the Mong people, who have lived here for generations. Take a leisurely walk, breathe deeply, relax, and capture memorable photos along the way.
Arrive at Ta Phin Commune in the late afternoon. Optional homestay accommodation is available. Check in and enjoy an authentic dinner with local dishes.
Overnight in a traditional Mong house, where you can experience their unique culture first-hand.
Day 03 | Explore The Areas Beyond Tua Chua (B/L/D)
07:00 AM – Wake up and enjoy the fresh air of the countryside, then boost your energy with a hearty breakfast. Say farewell to your homestay hosts and drive to Ta Sin Thang commune.
Along the way, stop at the bustling weekly ethnic market—one of the most vibrant in Northern Vietnam. Held on Mouse and Horse days, the market is a colorful spectacle of trading and cultural exchange, with people in traditional costumes from different minority groups.
At midday, visit a Xa Phang family and enjoy a traditional lunch. Here, you will also learn about local customs, embroidery, and knitting traditions while engaging with the villagers.

Continue to Sin Chai commune for a short walk among ancient Shan tea forest interwoven with village houses and fields. Sin Chai is home to around 4,000 of these centuries-old tea trees, which have been an essential part of Mong life for generations, providing both livelihood and cultural identity.
In the afternoon, travel along winding mountain roads and scenic passes. Stop to admire and photograph the upland rice terraces of Hang Khua, beautifully shaped like “golden and pearl trays” by the locals (one crop per year around June to September)
By late afternoon, arrive in Huoi So commune. Check in at your homestay, then take a leisurely stroll to see the picturesque bridge crossing Pa Phong Bay. The landscape here is made even more enchanting by the Song Da Reservoir, whose emerald waters reflect the surrounding rocky mountains.

Day 04 | Leaving Tua Chua Back To Dien Bien Phu City (B/L/D)
Wake up and enjoy the fresh air of the countryside, then recharge with a delicious breakfast.
Begin your morning with a peaceful boat cruise on the Song Da Reservoir, taking in the charming scenery of Huoi So commune. On the return, stroll through a Dao village by the shore, where locals practice traditional fabric weaving and boat building.

Enjoy a homecooked lunch at your homestay, followed by a short rest. After check-out, continue your journey back to Dien Bien Phu. On the way, stop at the magnificent Kho Chua La Cave, famous for its wild beauty, impressive stalactites, and mysterious formations.
Take a short break for drinks and restroom on the way. Arrive in Dien Bien Phu by late afternoon, receive a warm welcome at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight in the city.
Day 05 | DBP Historical Sites - Back To Hanoi (B/L)
07h00 AM: Enjoy your hotel breakfast and checkout.
Start your morning tour of Dien Bien Phu historical sites, including the Victory Museum, Eliane 2, Dominique 2, De Castries’ headquarters, and Beatrice.
Return to the hotel, check out, and settle your bill at reception. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Free time for relaxation or shopping before transferring to the airport for your departure flight to Hanoi.
Tour ends. Goodbye and see you again!

Price: The advertised price is in US dollars and includes Government taxes as per the itinerary. Deposit Requirement:
50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% may be paid either before or upon arrival in Dien Bien Phu; if settled after arrival, payment must be made in Vietnam Dong (VND) before the tour starts, based on the exchange rate at the time of confirmation.

Refunds: No refund is available if cancellations occur after the tour has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised, in accordance with the regular cancellation policy.
Itinerary Changes & Tour Cancellation: Hoang Nam Travel reserves the right to vary itineraries should circumstance dictate, as well as cancel or reschedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements, or circumstances beyond its control. Any changes must be communicated to customers with an explanation.
Hotels listed are to be used as a guide only, and are subject to availability unless otherwise stipulated. Hoang Nam Travel reserves the right to amend or deviate from the tour itinerary as circumstances require, while endeavoring to maintain the listed destinations and an equivalent standard of accommodation whenever possible. Coach use is subject to Driver Regulations.
Baggage Allowance & Porterage: Porterage of one suitcase per person is included in the tour price for arrival & departure from hotels in Vietnam. Due to limited coach capacity the sum of the length, width & depth of the case should not exceed 160cm (63 inches), and weight should not exceed 20kg (44 Lbs). Charges may be levied in the event these limits are exceeded & the promise to transport you may be invalidated.
What’s Not Included: Passports and applicable visa fees, laundry, phone calls, items of a personal nature, beverages, meals and sightseeing not detailed on the itinerary, tips and gratuities to the Tour Director, coaches drivers and local guides, excess baggage, optional excursions and travel insurance. Force majeure cases
OTHER NOTES:
Customers aged 70 to under 75 years old are required to sign a health commitment with the Company. Customers aged 75 and over are required to have a full health certificate for traveling abroad issued by a doctor + a health commitment form with the Company. A relative under 60 years of age (in good health) must accompany. In addition, customers over 75 are encouraged to pay for additional premium insurance (fees vary depending on the tour). We do not accept guests from 80 years old and above.
Pregnant guests, please inform the tour sales staff at the time of booking for further information. We do not accept pregnant women from 5 months onwards for safety reasons.
Children not accompanied by their parents, require authorization from their parents and confirmation from the Ward/Commune where their permanent residence is registered.
Customers who want to issue a red invoice, please inform the consultant when booking the tour. At the latest 7 days after the end of the tour.
The program and hotels may change the order to suit the actual situation of the group. Check-in time at the hotel: after 14:00 and check-out before 12:00
In the case of force majeure due to weather, natural disasters, riots, war, epidemics, flight delays or cancellations due to weather or technical reasons..., the tour cannot be continued, Hoang Nam travel will refund the tour fee to customers after deducting the service costs already performed and will not be responsible for compensating any other costs.
Disclosure of fees or commissions received from third parties: Hoang Nam Travel in Dien Bien may receive fees, commissions, gifts or financial incentives from third parties under this Terms & Conditions.
